WELCOME Welcome to the online home of Montgomeryshire Area Scout Council. We hope that this site will be a valuable resource to Leaders, Members and Non-members. Montgomeryshire Area Scout Council is part of The Scout Association in the United Kingdom. AREA CALENDAR 2012 Events for 2012 at Area and Wales level are now on the Events page. More information will be added through the year. WANTED - AREA TREASURER We were very sorry to say goodbye to our Area Treasurer Jan Lipscombe, who stepped down recently from her post. We are now looking for a new Area Treasurer and would be very interested to hear from anyone who may be able to help us. It is not a time-consuming post, as there are only a couple of dozen payments and receipts per year to keep track of. In addition, there are 5 Area Executive meetings held each year (usually in Montgomery) and the AGM in July (usually in Abermule). It does not require someone experienced in bookkeeping or accounts, although being comfortable with numbers is helpful! If you are confident with IT, then you can use a spreadsheet, but the accounts are simple enough that traditional pen and paper would be fine. Full support will be given by the rest of the team. So, if you would like to help Scouting in Montgomeryshire, without a major time commitment, and feel you could be our new Area Treasurer, please contact Area Secretary Ruth Hendry on 01686 669692 or email . CALENDAR OF EVENTS The Events page now has a calendar of events for 2011 and some for 2012, including Area events and those organised by or on behalf of the Welsh Scout Council. THIS IS YOUR WEBSITE If you have anything you wish to have posted up on the website, please send it to . This can be anything from Group reports, activity and programme ideas to requests for help. Pictures can be placed up, but you must have consent from all parents of under 18s to do this. Please let us know if anything seems to need updating. |

AREA DIRECTORY The 2010-2011 annual report has just been published, along with the Area Directory 2011. MONTGOMERYSHIRE Montgomeryshire Area Scout Council has just published its three year development plan for 2011 to 2013. You can download the Three Year Plan by clicking here and take a look at all the ideas we have for expanding and improving Scouting in the Area. You can also click here to read the first review of the plan by the Development Sub-Committee. THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION'S The Aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of Young People in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
